HOw do I crossover?
The International Training (SDI, TDI, ERDI, and PFI) professional crossover program allows Divemasters, Assistant Instructors, and Instructors to become certified dive professionals within the International Training system if they hold an equivalent rating with an organization recognized by the World Recreational Scuba Training Council (WRSTC), European Underwater Federation (EUF), or International Standards Organization (ISO).

The Professional Familiarization Program makes it possible to complete all academic requirements for a professional dive rating. This is the first step for aprofessional who is current with another recognized SCUBA certification agency to crossover to Scuba Diving International (SDI), Technical Diving International (TDI), Emergency Response Diving International (ERDI), or Professional Freediving International (PFI). You only have to complete this familiarization once, even if you are crossing over to more than one of these agencies.
Professional Crossover Familiarization is a three-step process:
- Step one is to complete a self-study academic program. The program will acquaint you with the history and philosophy of International Training – the parent company of SDI, TDI, ERDI, and PFI. It will also review standards and procedures, programs, and products for the agency or agencies for which you may be qualifying.
- Step two is to gather all of the required paperwork you must submit to acquire your new professional rating(s). This paperwork will include a copy of your current required professional rating and, if required, current insurance listing SDI/TDI/ERDI/PFI as an additional insured.
- Step three is to finalize your rating. You will meet with one of our course directors/instructor traniers who will answer any questions you have. We will also ensure you have all required paperwork completed and submit that paperwork to headquarters.
- Once your paperwork is received and processed by headquarters you will receive your new SDI, TDI, ERDI, or PFI Dive Professional credentials.
