SDI Future Buddies

An introduction to scuba diving for kids ages 8 to 12, in the pool and under the direct supervision of an instructor.

$225 per day of training.

Who this course is for:

Kids 8 to 12 who are curious about diving and comfortable in the water.

Course prerequisites

• Minimum age 8 with parental consent
• Comfortable, adequate swimming ability

What you can expect to learn:

The SDI Future Buddies Course takes an in-depth look at all of the following:

• Diving history and aquatic life
• Buoyancy, pressure, and breathing underwater
• Scuba equipment
• Dive safety
• Weighting, buddy checks, mask clearing, buoyancy control, finning, gauge reading, and hand signals

What’s in it for you?

Graduates may dive only under the supervision of an instructor, in conditions similar to their training.

SDI Future Buddies minimum certification requirements:

• All skills performed in the pool only
• Maximum depth 6 metres / 20 feet
